Hi...I was searching on the net and found your post - my parents found a bottle on a beach in Scotland last week, and it contained almost the same thing as you found! Where did you find your letter? Do you know anything about where it came from or who wrote it?

I found one too!! How bizarre. Says pretty much the same as yours.Do you know what it means? What have you done with the letter?
I found one in Morecambe Bay, last year. Weighted down with coins and sealed air tight.

I found a message yesterday 16th March 2009 at Flookburgh beach in the Lake District, it was tied up with a piece of cotton in a plastic bottle with near enough the same message as everyone else. the bit i find intriging is the future date of 25th of July 2009

The 25/7/09 date referes to 1909 when Louis Bleriot flew the first cross-channel flight on that day. It does not refer to some future date as Craig of Flookburgh had thought.
Found one last night(13/07/2009) pretty much the same info. dated 9/5/09. letters at the bottom read DMTNT
Mine was found on fleetwood beach - glad Im not the only one lol - how very interesting!

just found one on coulderton beach cumbria - pretty much same information - strange!
I found a similar message on the beach between Pontllyfni and Dinas Dinlle in Gwynedd, Wales 20/3/10.
This one had been found previously, in Fleetwood, in February this year.
The first finder added a new note saying where it was found, and threw it back into the sea.
me and my son found one these letters on a beach in Bolton Le Sands, Morecambe on 31.05.10, the contents are pretty much the same as everybody eles, found it interesting to find out more about it when at first we didnt have a clue what it was all about!! would like to know where it all started from tho???

on the beach with my brother and his friend, and we was looking for crabs and on the way back we found a plastic bottle with a glued lid, with exactly the same message you've all been on about and the date sent was
28/04/10.
i found on the 02/06/10, mine is slightely different it doesn't say 'the umbrella man' or
'radioactve man'

Hi, we found one of these letters yesterday in Heysham near Half moon bay (17/06/10). Although it seems to be a little different. Some of the words are underlined. This is what mine says:

My dad also found one on Allonby beach that read exactly the same as Nick Elliot's.
I found an almost identical message in a bottle nr Ulverston Cumbria this evening. 6th October 2010.Available if anyone wants to see.

More than 20 of these bottles on Aldingham beach strung along the tide line on 26th Octo.
I also found two on Aldingham beach on Saturday 30th October 2010 similar notes as mentioned above

Hi, I recently came off holiday from Cumbria and I also too found the exact message in the bottle. It was in an unbranded fruit shott bottle with a green lid glued shut. When I got into it, it had a piece of thin cotton tied around it. When I opened it, it had exactly what is described in your message and I found it quite strange. I have been looking on the internet to see if anyone else has had these discoveries and you are not the only one. There was a man who had 26 of these bottles at home that he had also found near cumbria. This is a mysterious message to be found in a bottle and I do too wonder who wrote it.
As to my previous message. This message was quite recent, it was dated 3/3/11 and I found the letter on the 12/4/11. So this message is still going around now.
found two of theses tonight down at aldingham beach Nr Ulverston .. the date on the ones i found are 30/04/11 .. both in the same handwriting, in the same bottles, same colour cotton and the lids glued shut
What our bottle letter author needs to realise is that if you take any 365,000 newsworthy facts from the year 1900 say to the present ,then Very Strangely, on average , each item will link up to 999 others ON THE SAME DATE (but different year). Spooky isn't it. Chuck em all back intut sea.

I found one on the Isle of Muck 21/7/11 have some nice photos of it unopened with the Isle of Rhum in the background, before I gave it to my friend's two young boys to open no penpals to be had in it though. I can see that there is no mystery to be linked together and solved but am intriged by the obsessions of a person driven to send so many! Bottles and cans clap your hands.
I found exactly the same today 2/08/11, the message was dated the 28/08/11 so only been in the sea 5 days found it at Newbiggin in between Ulverston and Barrow-In-Furness, Cumbria, not sure what it means or why this guy is repeatedly sending these messages in bottles, looks like he has been doing it for years! The message was rolled up to perfection and the piece of string on it too!
Feb 2012 found a plastic bottle with green lid and same message as everyone near enough back in June 2011 at Cark shoreline. Feb 2012 found about 14 of these bottles with same message in dated around 28/9/11 28/11/11 etc, following a high tide. Time for someone somewhere to get a life!
Yesterday I found 3 bottles when I was out on ainsdale beach with my family all the same and exactly the same bottles/handwriting and the same notes inside them I do not no what to do with them and so I took them home all the same so I thought how curios so I googled them and it seems that I'm not the only one to find the bottles it says that these bottles have go the farest to Ireland and the dates on the bottom have been changing over the years and it is very mysterious I hope that we find out who is doing this

Just found 23 along the beach at south end of walney island , was with the kids who were really excited by it . This guy must have plenty of time on his hands and has been doing it for years .
Kids just found a bottle with the same paper and writing morecambe
Found one today 9th May 2020, Isle of Whithorn, Scotland.
Amazed to have fallen down this complete rabbit hole, finding that this is actually a ‘thing’!
So odd and bizarre.
The message found today has been a bit different it seems to all the others found before that have been mentioned here!
Only 1 side of paper as follows (all in capital letters though) with certain words underlined.
